The meters
One unit per message that leaves us: a Slack post, an email, an MQTT publish, a webhook request. A trigger with three destinations counts three. Tests and retries are free.
Snapshots and GIFs on the timeline, in stored gigabytes. Your allowance decides how far back history goes — there's no fixed retention window.
Triggers, detection runs, API calls, seats, and events that arrive but never match a trigger.
Overage
Alerts don't stop when an allowance runs out — that's the one moment you'd least want them to.

Extra usage is billed at the end of the month at these rates, and you can set a hard cap if you'd rather it paused instead. On the free plan there's no overage charge — notifications pause until the allowance resets, and the oldest snapshots are trimmed to stay under 0.5 GB. Events keep arriving the whole time.

Billing
One message successfully sent to one destination. A trigger that posts to Slack, publishes to MQTT and calls your webhook counts three. Retries of a failed send don't count again, and test sends are free.
Only as storage. Events that arrive and don't match a trigger sit on the timeline and count towards your gigabytes, not your notifications — so a filtered trigger is the cheapest way to run a busy camera.
As long as your storage allowance holds it — there's no fixed retention window. Busy cameras fill it faster, so you can cap a camera's own history or turn GIFs off where a still is enough.
Yes. Set a monthly overage cap and we'll email you at 80% of it. Reach the cap and sending pauses rather than billing further — events still land on the timeline.
The new allowances apply from the next billing date. If you're over the smaller plan's storage, the oldest snapshots are trimmed first — export what you need before the switch.
